To the whole crew at Design Works,
We would like to extend our deepest thanks to all who worked on creating our "dream farm home." It has been just a year or so since we were able to move into Hidden Meadow, and we have really begun to settle in.
Having now had the opportunity to enjoy all of the seasons in our home, we must say that the design concept was perfect!
Recently, we had a homecoming party at our home with over 200 people, and the reaction and comments we received on the beauty of our home were astonishing. Those who saw what the home was before you all worked your magic were floored by the creativity and beauty you were able to create from such an "ugly" home. Of course we gave kudos to Design Works and compliments to our builders at Brooks Construction.
It feels nice to have the home of our dreams and to know that so much heart and soul went into creating it.

Our company has worked closely with Chuck Smith of Design Works Architecture since September of 2007. During this period we have worked together on the construction of a large lakeside home in Canandaigua, which is still in progress.
We have found Chuck and his team at DWA to be extremely easy to deal with. They are always available to answer questions and provide direction. Chuck maintains excellent communications with the client and our Site Superintendent during the construction process, and visits the site on a regular basis. His level of attentiveness and responsiveness to the client and the project far exceeds anything we have experienced with other architects during our 21 years in business. Chuck and the DWA team are professional, thoughtful, thorough, creative and excellent communicators. They stay involved through every stage of construction.
We have also worked with Chuck on potential projects in the development stages and are impressed with how well he listens to clients while trying to understand their needs and wishes. He also will invest a great deal of time researching and exploring all options.
When a client hires Chuck and the team at DWA they are getting a very creative, hands-on architect who will go to great lengths to completely meet their needs. We will frequently refer prospective clients of ours to Chuck for architectural services and very much enjoy working with him.

Hi Chuck,
Thanks for the postcard. What beautiful structures you are creating. It is great to hear from you and I am not surprised that business is enjoying an uptick. I think that your work and that of New Energy Works has been ahead of the "green" tide for quite some time. It should be a little easier now to get insulation that has not been treated with formaldehyde for instance.
John and I are doing fine even given the financial meltdown. Our home continues to bring us joy and comfort on a daily basis, so I can't thank you enough. John's task today is designing a gate for the downstairs stairwell opening. He has made a model of a clever gate that can swing back against the banister on a pivot mechanism. Our next step is to call Pioneer Mill Works and see if they can build and install it. Last years project was to continue designing the Japanese landscape details for the front of the house along with new fruit trees and a raised vegetable garden in the back.
