Canandaigua Lake, also known as "The Chosen Spot", is 16 miles in length and is home to one of the only two islands in the Finger Lakes, Skenoh Island. Canandaigua Lake provides water to 70,000 residents. The lake is known as being a common summer vacationing destination and the development along the shoreline is of cottages and summer homes.
